2018 will go down in the books as a historic year for Motorola Solutions. The company celebrated our 90-year anniversary. We broadened our command center software portfolio even further by acquiring Avigilon, a leader in advanced video surveillance and analytics, and Airbus DS Communications, a provider of emergency call handling software. That makes Motorola the only end-to-end public safety software provider in the market.

We also partnered with LexisNexis and Microsoft to provide additional value to the public safety customers we have been privileged to serve for many decades. To top it off, Motorola Solutions proudly assisted in the opening of the National Law Enforcement Museum as the first founding partner providing more than $18 million in support.

It was an eventful and exciting year with more activities than we could fit here. Get caught up on a few of the highlights you might’ve missed along the way:

Explore some of our latest devices:

This year, we released the APX 8000H/HXE Div1 HazLoc certified two-way radio which is designed for use in areas where there are routinely dangerous concentrations of flammable gases, vapors, liquids or combustible dust. We also made the LEX L11 Mission Critical LTE Device available, a broadband device purpose-built for public safety that seamlessly combines hardware, software and accessories. Use this interactive tool to compare your smart device to the LEX L11.

See what’s possible:

There’s no better way to learn about the difference our solutions make than by hearing from our customers. If you are considering building a real-time crime center, advancing your digital evidence management, implementing automated personnel accountability or making the move to NG911, hear from Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, the City of New Orleans, Princeton University and the South Holland Fire Department.

Review the latest industry research in preparation for the new year:

Each year, Motorola Solutions conducts public safety surveys to gain an understanding of the top challenges, trends and priorities in the market. Agencies across the nation leverage this research in order to evaluate their technology and discover where other departments stand. Review this year’s Law Enforcement and Fire Service survey reports and look out for new surveys at the beginning of next year.

2018 was a tremendous year for Motorola Solutions and we look forward to being a resource to your agency in 2019 and beyond. Happy Holidays!
