When selecting drone hardware, public safety agencies throughout the U.S. face increasing challenges. Finding secure, reliable, versatile, yet affordable drones is difficult, and the constantly changing legislative and regulatory landscape furthers the complexity.
New integration to meet new challenges
The CAPE drone software team at Motorola Solutions is committed to providing agencies with choice by thoroughly vetting and integrating with leading drone manufacturers to deliver a complete solution that meets your current and future demands.
Through this vetting process, we identified Inspired Flight, a company recognized for its commitment to U.S. manufacturing and the development of dependable, high-performance drone hardware. We’ve been working with Inspired Flight to develop a seamless integration between Motorola Solutions’ CAPE software and the Inspired Flight IF800 Tomcat drone hardware.
We’re excited to announce this new integration that meets today’s needs while providing a foundation for long-term success.
New tactical drone alternative, made exclusively in America
California-based Inspired Flight’s IF800 Tomcat, a medium-lift drone, offers a secure and reliable solution built on the company’s founding commitment to domestic supply chain and production. The IF800 is an industrial-grade drone with an extended flight time of over 40 minutes and the ability to accommodate 4K resolution cameras and sensors weighing up to 3 kg.
In 2024, the company announced the IF800 was added to the exclusive Green UAS and Blue UAS lists, programs that identify and certify drones for government use. To be listed, the IF800 had to meet strict security and operational integrity standards to ensure it can be trusted for sensitive government and defense applications.
Seamless integration for a future-proof solution
By integrating the IF800 with Motorola Solutions’ CAPE flight control software, agencies gain a seamless and compliant solution for their tactical needs. This powerful combination simplifies operations, streamlines procurement, and ensures long-term compatibility with evolving regulations and technology. The result is a combination that’s not only effective in the field but also fiscally responsible, reducing the risk associated with non-compliant or outdated technology.
The IF800 integrated with CAPE software provides a future-proof tactical advantage. It offers a reliable, easy-to-use system without compromising on performance.
And this is only the beginning
The integration of the IF800 with CAPE is not only a solution for today’s challenges — it’s a foundation for tomorrow’s innovations. Motorola Solutions and Inspired Flight are actively working on expanding the integration’s capabilities and deployment options, focusing on drone as first responder (DFR) usage and increased support for critical industries.
Ongoing development ensures that the CAPE and IF800 integration will remain at the forefront of drone technology, proving long-term value and adaptability for agencies and businesses.
