Thousands of customers trust the Rave Mobile Safety Suite to help protect their employees, students and residents. Our customers include some of the largest communities, the most respected companies, and best-known colleges and universities in the world.
We want to make it easier on you. Below, you will find some of our most frequently asked customer questions:
“How can my school/organization receive immediate notifications from local officials if there is a nearby threat or incident?”
Rave offers several options for providing emergency notifications and collaborating across various organizations and local agencies. The latest and most sophisticated solution is Rave Link, which automates the workflow associated with recognizing the impact that a particular emergency incident may have on nearby organizations. Public Safety Answering Points (i.e. 9-1-1 centers) provide a real-time feed of dispatch data to Rave Link and create rules for notifications associated with specific incidents. This ensures the quickest dissemination of information, allowing for appropriate actions to be taken to keep people safe, and in a manner that doesn’t take 9-1-1 staff off of their critical task of answering calls for service and coordinating the appropriate emergency response.
“What is the best way for me to survey our employees or residents?”
Rave Alert has an embedded Polling function. This capability allows you to pose a question with a defined answer set to any target list of recipients. Additionally, you can request the respondent’s real-time location. The author of the alert can also choose to provide follow-up instructions based on the response provided. Once a poll is sent, you are able to view summary response data by the answers selected, display respondents on a map for those who shared location or download a raw report of responses. For the example of activating and staffing an emergency operations center (EOC), the Polling feature makes it extremely easy to ask who is available, what their response time is and even set a quota for a certain number of team members. Once the quota is met, the survey will display a closeout message of your choosing to indicate that no additional staff is needed. For the evacuation scenario, Polling provides tremendous value by reducing the number of residents that field units need to check on or provide assistance to by simply asking residents whether they require evacuation assistance.
“I am a Rave Panic Button administrator. I understand that the system provides additional communications capabilities beyond the 5 primary emergency buttons on the home screen through Staff Assist, but what are some of the more common ways your other customers leverage this feature?”
As noted, the Staff Assist feature of Rave Panic Button allows schools or other organizations to template internal communications for situations that don’t require an outside public safety response. Some of the more common templates that are in use across our customer base are for a: Disturbance, Facility Issue, Medical Assist, Missing Child, Severe Weather or Suspicious Activity. In a healthcare setting, many of our customers will align their Staff Assist templates with their internal emergency codes and reserve the emergency buttons only for a fire or active assailant.
“How can you help me curb the issues with short staffing and training issues in my PSAP?”
Our latest development of Rave Link can automate select communications and trigger workflows, based on certain computer-aided dispatch (CAD) event parameters, that provide relief from mundane activities, as well as provide guidance for those who have yet to build the required muscle memory in your call-taking /dispatch environment.
“How can I use the Rave platform to receive reports about suspicious activity or people at my campus?”
With Rave AppArmor, customers can have custom branded apps that allow their stakeholders to report everything from suspicious activity, mental health concerns, to active threats directly to the appropriate authorities. These apps are always white labelled to the customer and provide an important tool in preventing serious crises.
“We have people traveling all over the world. Considering how it can be difficult to send certain kinds of messages to people in other countries, what is the best way to send notifications to them on the Rave platform”
SMS and other notifications can be very tricky in different countries; it turns out that each country has rules around how quickly text messages can be delivered. Instead, consider deploying a custom branded Rave AppArmor app. The push notifications function in AppArmor apps allow for notifications to reach end users globally in 1-5 seconds, regardless of the county they are in. What’s more, people can reply with their current status, location, and additional details. A safety app may just be the best and quickest way to reach your people abroad.
