2019 Award Recipient of the Walter E. Lawson Award: Captain Deborah Francis

NOBLE 2019

Annually, Motorola Solutions is the sponsor of the Walter E. Lawson award for community service and leadership. This year we are honored to congratulate Captain Deborah Francis of the Philadelphia Police Department for her nomination. On Thursday, August 14, 2019, Commander Francis was presented this prestigious award at the President’s Ball by Motorola Solutions’ Livinia Miller. Serving Philadelphia PD for over 27 years, Captain Francis is leading the way as the first female commanding officer for the department. Rising through the ranks, Cpt. Francis has shown determination to bettering the place she calls home and continues to serve her community with new initiatives that are making a difference in the greater Philadelphia area.

NOBLE exhibits opened on August 11, with the Motorola Solutions booth positioned at the front line and showcasing innovative technologies that enable law enforcement in the moments that matter. From command center software to video security and communications, NOBLE executives experienced first-hand how our suite of solutions make their jobs safer and more efficient. We welcomed our newest acquisition WatchGuard to the booth, showcasing the VISTA line of body-worn cameras. Additionally, Avigilon software and cameras were a crowd favorite and demonstrated how we are increasing situational awareness for responders on the streets. Our Command Center Software Suite brings all of this data together within one platform.

NOBLE Executives Tour the New Orleans Real-Time Crime Center

Provided to a select group of NOBLE executives, Motorola Solutions hosted a Real-Time Crime Center Tour at the New Orleans Office of Emergency Management. Attendees toured the crime center and asked staff about the technologies that enhance situational awareness to first responders of the City of New Orleans. Highlighting CommandCentral Aware software, all video, data, and communications are brought into one common operating picture for analyst to provide information instantly to responding units.

Motorola Solutions Speaking Sessions at NOBLE

NOBLE 2019

Three engaging speaking sessions. Three dynamic speakers. Kicking off the week, Motorola’s Rohan Galloway-Dawkins (pictured), Director of Records and Evidence, spoke to NOBLE executives about “The New Era of Records and Evidence.” Staff learned how implementing a platform of integrated technologies will streamline the way their agency operates.

Next on deck, Tony Sereda, Smart Public Safety Solutions Executive, addressed NOBLE on how law enforcement can benefit when applying technology through a “Public Private Partnership” approach. An intimate roundtable left attendees with the call to action to collaborate with private businesses and residents when leveraging technology.

And to round out the week, Bert Van Der Zaag, Emerging Solution Designer, addressed lively NOBLE attendees on how “Augmented Reality and Drones” is the way of the future for law enforcement. Giving new perspective to where agencies can leverage innovative technologies within their operations.

This past week has been full of exciting events and interactions for all who participated. As we are committed to delivering best-in-class technologies for public safety, we will continue to stand with NOBLE in their pursuit of leadership, looking forward to a bright future collaborating together. Thank you NOBLE for continued partnership throughout the conference and over the past years. We look forward to partnering with you for the 44th Annual conference in Cleveland, Ohio, 2020!
