CarDetector Fixed 6.3

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

To comply with CJIS standards, new requirements for logging on to CDF 6.3 have been implemented for VehicleManager users. VehicleManager Enterprise and ClientPortal users are not affected by the new login requirements. CDF now uses the VehicleManager login page with MFA support. When logging on with a Standard User account, the full MFA log in process must be completed every 12 hours. Proxy User accounts are not automatically logged out. Stored scans and hits will continue to upload after the system is logged back on.

Device Authentication

To comply with CJIS standards, all CDF 6.3 systems must now be authenticated through VehicleManager in order to log on, upload detections and download hot lists. VehicleManager Enterprise and ClientPortal users are not affected by device authentication requirements. Agency Managers must review and authenticate CDF systems that have received the version 6.3 update. A grace period of 90 days will be applied to existing systems so that they can continue to operate uninterrupted, without authentication. To authenticate CDF systems in VehicleManager, log on as an Agency Manager and go to: Device Authentication → More → Authenticate Device.

See the VehicleManager Passkey QuickStart Guide for more information on authenticating Windows computers used to access VehicleManager.
