The Flex roadmap is driven by the real-world needs of its users. Throughout 2025, the idea portal served as a vital bridge between user suggestions and the development cycle. By listening to requests for more intuitive workflows and better data visibility, several key features were introduced across four major releases.
Release 2025.1: Foundations of a new experience
The start of the year focused on allowing our users to get more value from their Flex system by improving reporting.
- Veteran and citizenship tracking: In response to customer feedback requesting a dedicated field to track these details, veteran and citizenship status fields were added to the names table (nmmain).
- User-driven reporting: New reports and enhancements were added based specifically on feedback to improve accuracy.
Release 2025.2: Precision and efficiency
Spring updates brought more power to data visualization and reporting tools. The second release of the year focused on saving agency time through technological updates. A new version of the Pin Map was released, utilizing improved technology to make the system easier to run and support. This update was designed to mirror the user experience of the Flex Mobile Map for better platform consistency. Additionally, the commitment to refining reporting tools continued with enhancements to specific reports based on field feedback.
Release 2025.3: Integrated mapping and accountability
The third quarter focused on cross-platform technology and better system accountability. We released a new and improved Flex CAD map built on the same reliable technology as the Mobile map.
Efficiency for dispatchers and officers was also improved through updates to ASAP2PSAP, which now supports address validation using common names and aliases. This allows users to see the common name immediately, eliminating the need to re-enter it after validating a street address. Furthermore, printed reports are now automatically captured in the system log (sylog). This ensures every report run is documented, including who printed it and the criteria used.
Release 2025.4: Streamlining evidence and insights
The final release of the year streamlined evidence handling and visibility. Flex Scanner users can now find all evidence associated with a specific incident number. This helps technicians easily locate items and reduces the number of steps required for collection or disposal. Finally, we refreshed the reporting suite with updates such as:
- Case management activity reports: New reports that include activity detail and time tracking.
- Response plans with levels: A new report providing details for each level.
2025 Rapid-fire wins
In addition to major platform shifts, the Idea portal sparked several user-voted enhancements that delivered immediate value to daily operations:
- Data integrity: New troubleshooting checks were added to PushToCommandCentral in 2025.1 to help users resolve issues when records fail to sync to the cloud.
- Mobile law enhancements: In 2025.2, users gained the ability to print reports directly from the Mobile Law Incident form, a significant time-saver for officers in the field.
- Jail module efficiency: The 2025.3 release added timers for facility events (like cell checks and rounds) and color-coded status indicators to prevent missed checks.
- Scanner app versatility: The 2025.4 release expanded the Flex Scanner app to iOS and iPadOS, enabling technicians to use their existing mobile devices.
- Online inmate search: Available in 2025.4, users can now search for and view Flex Jail inmate information online.
- Expungements: The 2025.4 update also included a new web app that allows agencies to expunge involvement and records that are hidden from most users.
- CCAssetSync status visibility: Enhancements to the File Capture screen in 2025.4 provide better visibility into file sync status, including a new connection status icon and a cloud status column.
Looking ahead to 2026
The enhancements introduced throughout 2025 — from the foundational shift of the CAD Web Client to specialized tools such as evidence searches — demonstrate the power of user-voted enhancements in steering the future of Flex. These user-driven updates are designed to reduce complexity and increase accuracy, ensuring your agency has the most efficient tools possible. With 2026 already underway, we remain committed to modernizing your experience and integrating your feedback into every stage of development.
