Each year, Motorola Solutions’ Summit provides public safety professionals with in-depth training and networking opportunities alongside industry peers and experts. This blog highlights the NG9-1-1 (Next Generation 9-1-1) call routing and emergency call handling classes led by Motorola Solutions specialists. These sessions deliver new insights into Next Gen technologies to enhance your operational efficiency.
Based on this preview, which of these NG9-1-1 training classes at Summit 2025 best meet your PSAP’s needs?
Unified GIS and how to manage 9-1-1 mapping data in one secure place
This class looks at the problem of how to manage GIS data when it is located in different systems. We answer the question: Why is a unified GIS platform so important? “The whole point of unified GIS,” says Jeff Freeland, Motorola Solutions GIS mapping expert, “is to make sure everyone is using the same data and you have a consistent map experience for all users. A unified approach solves the problem of inefficiency.” If you are having to configure your CAD maps separately from your 9-1-1 map, from call routing and analytics maps, this class is for you.
Fine-tune your VESTA 9-1-1 engine
We’ve heard your requests! This session is dedicated to helping VESTA 9-1-1 users get the most out of their VESTA 9-1-1 system. No matter if you have questions, are new to administration, or want a refresher on VESTA Analytics, this session is for you. Join us to make sure you’re taking full advantage of your VESTA 9-1-1.
PSAP-to-PSAP communications in Next Gen – three points to consider
This class brings you up to speed on interagency communication, PSAP-to-PSAP, in NG9-1-1 and how you ensure you and your neighbors benefit. Learn what these capabilities are and three things you can do to accelerate availability. Gary Wine, County Administrator, Berkeley County, WV, will join the class and share his perspective of why NG9-1-1 PSAP-to-PSAP communications will save lives.

How to get the most from VESTA Managed and Support Services
It’s important to know what services you have available for your VESTA 9-1-1 system, like monitoring, access to reported tickets, change requests, and security patching. This class gives you an overview of how Motorola Solutions Managed and Support Services help protect your call handling operations. You will hear from the department directors for deployment, customer care, monitoring, and technical support. They will be joined by Monette Hurtt, 911 Services Manager for Greater Harris County 9-1-1 Emergency Network, who will share her experience of how important these services are. ANOTHER BENEFIT!
Answering 9-1-1 calls with less stress using the AI-enabled toolkit
What are some of the questions or concerns you have about implementing AI in your PSAP? This class will help address those as we examine the integrated cloud service that is part of VESTA NXT cloud call handling and VESTA 9-1-1. JC Meyer from Lee County Sheriff’s Office, the first agency to use the new AI-powered service, said, “We are talking about improvements for the call taker, and each improvement automates a routine task. This is a huge win for call takers.” Learn how AI could be the assistant your call takers and PSAP have been seeking.
