As we head to APCO, we do so with a resounding message that demonstrates how actions speak louder than words.
Public Safety officials – and now the Federal government – are taking action to support the reclassification of Public Safety Telecommunicators and dispatchers. Public Safety is coming together to support our critical resource – those on the Thin Gold Line who help keep us safe every day.
On July 15th, the 911 Saves Act was passed through the House of Representatives as part of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), putting it one step closer to reality. NENA gives credit to 12,500 NENA members who have contacted legislators 40,000 times in support of this measure. This momentous event recognizes and reinforces our trust and admiration for our first, first responders.
It takes a special type of person to manage 9-1-1 calls day in and day out.
At NENA, Motorola Solutions was joined by telecommunicators Matt Grogan and Jacob Carlson and recorded their thoughts on what’s important to them about their work. Their passion for and dedication to protect life and property is unmistakable. And, it is humbling to hear them tell how our technology helps them do their job safely and without interruption.
Many people outside of Public Safety may not realize the incredible expertise telecommunicators have. Matt provides insight into how skilled these people are and the remarkable benefits they bring to their communities. Learn more on how you can show your support at NENA’s website.
